Autumn Lipsticks

P1000112

I’ve been wearing loads of berry shades from early October onwards, and it made me remember how much I loved them. So I went out and got some more! I thought I’d share with you some of the shades I have been loving, to help you expand your collection! Even though there’s only one drugstore lipstick, I’d like to think there’s something for everyone in here!

Bobbi Brown – Hot Raspberry 2

This is a very vibrant colour, but still a blue pink which tones it down a bit more and makes it suitable for Autumn. I must say though, the way the lipstick is, makes it quite difficult to apply, compared to a Mac lipstick bullet. But this colour isn’t for the faint hearted, before you buy it, swatch it until you are happy with the colour!

Bobbi Brown – Berry 22

They must have discontinued this, because I can never find it on the website, but this colour is a true bright purple, and although it’s a sheer lip colour, it lasts a very long time. I do love this colour, but feel conscious that it makes my teeth look yellow! I think this is more of an evening colour than a day one.

Rimmel Kate Moss – Effort Glam 05

This is a beautiful deep rose colour, and I have been wearing it a lot. It doesn’t wash me out which is always a bonus, and it’s super creamy. The only downside is it doesn’t last very long I end up having to re apply it through out the day. If you don’t want to join the hype in the Kate Moss 107 lipstick, try this out, you won’t regret it! It’s a very original shade too, I can’t seem to find anything like it in MAC or Bobbi Brown. For the price I think this is a makeup bag staple!

Mac – Plumful (Lustre)

I never get tired of this shade. It lasts so long, which is what you’d expect from MAC, and it is my favourite Autumn lipstick! It’s a rose/plum shade and so beautiful! I like to wear the lipliner ‘Beet’ underneath which goes perfectly with it. I really recommend this!

Mac – Brave (Satin)

Brave is a pink beige colour as MAC describe it, and I couldn’t agree more. This is a lipstick for those of you that don’t want to go all out with a berry shade but don’t want a nude or a pink. The finish on this makes it quite matte but not at all drying. I love wearing ‘Soar’ lipliner under this, they complement each other well. But yeah, this is a beautiful colour all year round

Mac – Velvet Teddy (Matte)

I wouldn’t suggest buying Velvet Teddy and Brave because they are very similar but Velvet Teddy has orange undertones and brave has purple. The only downside of this is that it’s a matte and can be quite drying, but it does last a very long time. I also pair this with “Soar” but it is a very dark beige colour. This is a great colour for autumn if you aren’t brave enough for a full on berry lip!

Mac Lip Pencil – Soar

This is a mid-tone brown lipliner and I do find it difficult to wear. Nevertheless, it goes with so many nude lipsticks, so it’s very versatile. It’s great for the Autumn lipsticks that aren’t berry, so try this out if you have a love for nude/brown lipsticks.

Mac Lip Pencil – Beet

I absolutely love this lipstick, when I bought it I knew I made the right decision. It goes so well with the Mac lipstick Palmful and the Kate Moss 05 and the Bobbi Brown Hot Raspberry. I highly recommend this lipliner it’s a beautiful red/pink. It’s really not that expensive when you think about how good the quality is, it has the potential to last all day!

P1000120

That’s all the lipsticks and lipliners I recommend you try for Autumn. I’m really sorry if it was an over load of MAC, but MAC is my favourite makeup brand of all time, so 60% of my makeup is from there anyway! Let me know in the comments what your favourite lipstick is for autumn and if you have any of the products mentioned!
