Winter Beauty Essentials

I am so sorry for not posting for about 2 weeks! I have been so busy recently, with new year and everything. I might even show you what I’ve been up to! Anyway, I thought I’d make a ‘Winter Beauty Essentials’, but most of the products are just alternatives to each other! There are so many nail varnishes, but who doesn’t love nail varnish?!

MAC – Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation

During the winter people either get drier skin than usual, or oiler skin than usual. I happen to be part of the latter, so I always need to powder my T zone. I love this powder because it really reduces shine, and provides coverage where I need it. You can use it to set makeup, but I prefer to use the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder for that.

Chanel – Nail Varnish Rouge Noir

Looking for a dark nail varnish that isn’t black? Look no further! Chanel Rouge noir is famous for looking black in some light, burgundy in others. I wouldn’t recommend wearing this if you have long nails, because they can look like witch nails, but if you have short nails, then I think that this looks really nice!

Essie – Fringe Factor

You can’t really use this on its own, but it’s a really nice top coat and goes well over pretty much every nail varnish colour. It’s really glittery and shiny, great for parties and nights out. Essie did 4 limited edition nail varnishes, I think, for winter, and they’re all different colour glitters. They are beautiful, if you like that kind of glitzy and sparkly top coats.

OPI – Nail Lacquer in Big Apple Red

Who doesn’t wear a red nail varnish around Christmas and new year?! I really like this one because it isn’t too bright but it isn’t dark either. Sometimes red nails can make your hands look old, but i don’t find that this does. You need to have a red nail varnish in your collection, and I really love this one.

Urban Outfitters – Marsala Nail Varnish

This is a really nice neutral colour, that looks great in its own, and great with a top coat. It’s so easy to wear and I really like it. Urban Outfitters aren’t really known for nail varnish because it’s a clothing brand, but I’m really impressed with them. There’s a massive colour range and they are really easy to apply and last a long time.

Ciate – Nail Polish in Celestial

I got this in a Ciate advent calendar last year, and I think it was limited edition, but if you can get your hands on this, definitely do. It is so so glittery and lasts for such a long time. I really like applying this over a gold nail polish, they compliment each other really well.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm in Mint

During winter my lips get so so dry. To combat that I love this lip balm from Kiehl’s because it is really affective and I see results very quickly. Although it has an expensive price tag, it lasts so long because you really don’t need a lot to cover your whole lips. It’s definitely worth the investment.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I have loads of blog posts planned for 2016, so make sure you stay up to date!
