YSL Black Opium

I’ve never reviewed a perfume before, and there is a very good reason why! I find it hard enough to describe the shades of products, let alone the scent of a perfume! Forgive me if this post isn’t very informative, but I will do my very best to not let you down!

Well, I have the 30ml bottle of Black Opium Eau De Toilette, and even that was expensive! I spent £40 on this and I’m here to tell you whether it’s worth it! In my opinion, this perfume is all I could ever ask it to be! It is very feminine and it can be worn in the day time or night time and still smell appropriate. The packaging is really nice and looks amazing on my dressing table! As the bottle isn’t an awkward to travel with or through in your handbag!

The scent is described as an ‘ultra-luminous green coffee accord with a heart of Jasmine Tea on a base of sensual Patchouli, white woods and musk’. Reading that, I totally agree, I could never quite put into words what scents came to mind, but that is a perfect summary! It is quite an intense smell, not something that won’t come across! Here are the correct notes: ‘Top notes: Blackcurrent Accord, Pear Accord, Green Mandarin Essence, Heart notes: Jasmine Tea, Orange Blossom, Floral Solar Accord, Base notes: Coffee Accord, White Musks, Blond Woods’ Whenever I wear it I get lovely complements, even though I think it has faded away.

As I said before, it is very feminine and I feel ever so slightly empowered when I wear it! It is lovely in the daytime as a refreshing scent, and in the evening I apply a little more to make an overwhelming (in a good way!) glamorous scent!

I really love collecting fragrances, and I have a few in mind that I’d like to get next, but if you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and do forgive me if it wasn’t the best! Don’t forget to follow my social medias so you never miss a post, my links are below!
